Prevent back-flow of process media

Check valves are available from ½” to 8” sizes in PVC, CPVC, ABS, PP, and PVDF are unidirectional and should be used whenever there is a need to prevent back-flow of process media. This may be when two incompatible fluids cannot be allowed to mix, or when reverse flow would cause undesirable drainage of a system line or tank. Many styles exist including simple ball checks, heavy-duty swing checks, and highly efficient piston checks. These valves are typically gravity operated and require very little back pressure seal. Air release or vent valve safety allows any entrapped air or gas to escape, avoiding potential damage to the piping system.

Ball check valves are ideal for vertical service and some designs can be used horizontally. When used horizontally, there must be enough back pressure generated to force the ball to seal since there is no assistance from gravity. Spring-assisted options exist to negate this problem but create corrosion and maintenance concerns. Industrial quality ball check valves will have optimized flow characteristics to minimize pressure loss, chatter, and wear; and can be installed horizontally

SXE is a ball check valve controlled by the directional flow. When the fluid is flowing in the intended direction, the fluid travels around the ball, through the valve. When the flow is reversed, back pressure is experienced and the ball seals the opening, closing the valve

specifications

  • Size: 1/2″ through 4″
  • Pressure: 232 psi at 73°F

features & benefits

  • Easyfit label system
  • Optimized flow characteristics
  • Very little back pressure to seal
  • Suitable for vertical and horizontal installations

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The all-new SSE Series complements our SXE ball check valves by introducing an advanced method of installation that provides trouble-free service for industrial, OEM, and water service applications. The internal profile of the SSE Series, combined with the spring-assisted contoured ball, gives the advantage of trouble-free vertical and horizontal installations, even if only very low back pressure is available. The innovative SSE EasyFit design features a custom labeling system. The EasyFit multifunctional handle allows for union nut rotational control and safely blocked carrier tightening. SSE Series Spring Assisted Check Valves are part of our complete system of IPEX pipe, valves, and fittings, engineered and manufactured to our strict quality, performance, and dimensional standards. The SSE Series Spring Assisted Check Valve can be found in applications such as:

  • Aquarium Piping Systems
  • Metals & Mining
  • Shipbuilding and Offshore applications
  • Water and wastewater treatment

The IPEX VR Y-Pattern Piston Check Valve is an ideal solution for process back-flow prevention. These valves feature all PVC high-performance components allowing for increased flow rate yet a low-return pressure for a positive seal. With installation possible in both horizontal and vertical orientations, the top entry design provides for simple in-line maintenance. VR Piston Check Valves are part of our complete systems of pipe, valves, and fittings, engineered and manufactured to our strict quality, performance, and dimensional standards.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Size: 1/2″ through 4″
  • Pressure: 232 psi (1/2″ to 1″), 150 psi (1-1/4″ to 2″), 90 psi (3″ to 4″)

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Prevents back-flow of process media
  • Very little back pressure to seal
  • Suitable for vertical and horizontal installations

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The VR Series features an all PVC construction of high-performance components. This Y-Pattern Piston Check Valve will perform equally as well in both vertical and horizontal orientations. With an increased flow rate yet low-return pressure positive seal, and top-entry maintenance, our VR Piston Check Valve far exceeds the limited performance of other popular check valves. Both EPDM and FPM seals are available. This valve can be found in applications such as:

  • Aquarium Piping Systems
  • Metals & Mining
  • Shipbuilding and Offshore applications
  • Water and wastewater treatment

IPEX SC Series Swing Check Valves combine superior flow rate with maximum versatility. Stainless wetted parts and hardware, a top entry design, and integral flanged ends are just a few key features. With extremely low back pressure requirements, these valves are ideal for backflow prevention in large-diameter lines, both horizontal and vertical. SC Series Swing Check Valves are part of our complete systems of pipe, valves, and fittings, engineered and manufactured to our strict quality, performance, and dimensional standards.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Size: 3″ through 8″
  • Pressure: 100 psi (3″), 70 psi (4″ to 8″)

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Prevents the backflow of process media
  • Very little back pressure to seal
  • Suitable for vertical and horizontal installations
