More and more industrial processes are turning to automation both as a way of reducing cost and increasing capabilities. A quarter turn valve is any kind of valve that will travel from the fully open to the fully closed position in a 90o motion. Ball, butterfly and certain diverting/multi-port valves fall under this description. Ball and butterfly valves are two of the most commonly used valves in pipelines and feature large flow rates and quick on/off operation.
